AKRON, Ohio — Akron police arrested at 36-year-old man Thursday morning for allegedly breaking into a home and assaulting a resident on the city’s South Side.
The suspect, Brandon Miller, is charged with aggravated burglary, felonious assault, obstructing official business, carrying a concealed weapon, improperly handling firearm in a motor vehicle and having weapons under disability, according to police.
At around 1:30 a.m., Miller allegedly broke into a home in the 900 block of Clay Street and assaulted the 34-year-old resident, police said. When officers arrived, the resident told them the suspect had ran off and that he was armed with a gun.
Miller was spotted a short time later pulling into the driveway of a home in the 500 block of East Tallmadge Avenue, police said. Miller tried to flee from officers but was taken into custody without incident. Officers found a loaded handgun in Miller’s possession.
Miller has an arraignment scheduled for Friday morning in Akron Municipal Court.
