AKRON, Ohio — A 51-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 59-year-old woman whose body was found in a wooded area on Tuesday afternoon in Akron, police said on Wednesday.

Kelli Clark, 51, of Akron, is charged with murder in connection to her death. Police also charged him with aggravated menacing, escape and a parole violation stemming from an unrelated incident.

On Tuesday, police found a 59-year-old woman dead, with what appeared to be stab wounds, in a wooded area near the 200 block of Annadale Avenue.

The victim’s car was missing. Throughout the day, police said they developed information that identified Clark as the suspect.

With help from the U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, Clark, who was driving the victim’s car at around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Forrest Drive, was arrested and taken to the Summit County Jail.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending family notifications, police said.
