AKRON, Ohio — An Akron resident had an unwelcome surprise Wednesday night when he walked into his home and found a burglar holding his laptop.

Authorities said the tenant had just taken out the trash and walked back into his apartment. Inside, an unknown male was standing in the living room holding his computer.

When the tenant told the intruder to drop the laptop, he was punched in the face, authorities said. The two men fought for several minutes and the burglar ran out empty-handed.

During the struggle, a wall was damaged and a window smashed. The tenant was treated by EMS for minor injuries, according to authorities.

Police didn’t provide a detailed description of the burglar.
