AKRON, Ohio — Akron METRO will reduce service beginning Monday, April 6. Riders who take the METRO will notice a reduced bus service Monday through Friday while the Saturday schedule remains the same.
Beginning April 12, there will be no Sunday service. However, this change won’t affect life-necessary paratransit trips to the grocery store, medical appointments and work.
METRO will run additional buses on its busiest routes when feasible to maintain social distancing.
“To best serve this community, we have one request: if it is not necessary for you to ride public transportation, please don’t. Do not put bus operators, METRO team members, and other passengers at risk. This team and this community deserve your respect and your help," said executive director Dawn Distler.
