AKRON, Ohio — A 19-year-old was shot in West Akron and later died at a hospital Wednesday night, according to a release from the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Akron Police Department.
On Wednesday at around 10:00 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Baughman Street in Akron for shots fired.
A 19-year-old male was found lying on the front lawn with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 11:12 p.m. The shooting is being investigated as a homicide.
The medical examiner will provide additional information once a positive identification has been made.
