AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are investigating after a 27-year-old man was found shot and later died at a hospital Friday morning.
On Friday at around 3:30 a.m., officers from the Akron Police Department responded to an address in the 600 block of Sherman Street for a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found the 27-year-old victim, later identified as Alex Tabler, with gunshot wounds to the torso.
EMS transported him to Cleveland Clinic Akron General where he was pronounced dead at 3:59 a.m.
While the exact circumstances are unclear, police believe there was a large gathering at the residence before the shooting. At some point, an unidentified female, took out a gun and shot Tabler during an argument.
Investigators are working to identify the shooter, who fled the scene.
