Akron police investigating a homicide of man set on fire; looking for information from the public

AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are looking for information regarding the death of a man they say was set on fire and sustained a blunt force head injury.

Akron detectives responded to the 2700 block of Manchester Road for a call about a man in cardiac arrest. Officers found a 59-year-old man, later identified as Gregory Brewster, behind a business on Sunday.

He was pronounced dead the scene. In an update on Wednesday, his death was being investigated as a homicide.
