AKRON, Ohio — A 43-year-old man was found shot and later died at a hospital after a shooting in West Akron Monday night.
The homicide happened near the intersection of Mercer Avenue and Stoner Street in Akron, police said.
The victim was transported for gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at around 5:40 p.m. at Summa Akron City Hospital, according to police.
The Akron Police Department and the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office will provide an update once the victim has been identified.
A 27-year-old man was also transported to a nearby hospital. He's being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The homicide remains under investigation.
