Akron police looking for silver Cadillac CTS believed to be involved in hit-skip that killed army veteran

AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are looking for the driver of a specific vehicle they believe was involved in the hit-skip crash that killed 64-year-old army veteran George Fry in the area of South Arlington and East Exchange streets on October 23.

Traffic investigators are searching for a gray Silver Cadillac CTS model made between 2003-2007.

Officers collected and processed evidence at the scene, including vehicle parts, which helped them identify the type of vehicle that was involved in the hit-skip.

Based on information gathered at the scene, Fry was on South Arlington Street when a vehicle traveling southbound on South Arlington struck and killed him.

His family is pleading for the driver to turn himself or herself in to the police.

Summit County Crimestoppers is offering a reward up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
