Akron police seek information on fatal hit-skip that left 62-year-old woman dead

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department is investigating a hit-skip that killed a 62-year-old woman Monday night.

Police said at around 5:45 p.m., Lucille Palm was on South Arlington St. at Georgia Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle.

The vehicle fled the scene.

Palm was transported to Akron City Hospital-Summa Health where she was pronounced dead. Police said it is unknown why she was in the street or what her condition was at the time of the hit-skip.

Investigators are seeking information on the driver and vehicle involved in the crash. Police said there is minimal information on the hit-skip vehicle other than the vehicle possibly silver in color.
