AKRON, Ohio — The U.S. Marshal's Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested a 29-year-old man in connection to the murder of Akron MMA fighter Isaiah Chapman, according to News 5 media partner at Ohio.com.
Christopher Blouir, 29, was arrested in connected to the shooting death of Chapman, according to the Akron Police Department.
Officers responded to the 300 block of Reed Avenue for a shots fired call on Tuesday night.
Chapman was located in the street with apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to Akron Summa Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Blouir was interviewed by investigators and was later transported to the Summit County Jail and charged with murder.
According to MMAMania.com, Chapman began his amateur career in 2010 and was a professional fighter for eight years.
