An Akron student pleaded guilty to stabbing his roommate to death last year, according to the Summit County Prosecutor's Office.
On Monday, Kendal Scheid, 23, of Grant Street in Akron, pleaded guilty in connection with the death of his roommate, Duncan Unternaher.
According to Akron police, Scheid grabbed a knife and stabbed 23-year-old Duncan Unternaher in the chest during an argument over fast food at their Grant Street apartment on Dec. 3, 2016.
Unternaher died two days later from his injuries.
In a 911 call, a third roommate said both students were highly intoxicated.
The caller said he needed an ambulance because his roommate stabbed his other roommate.
"They are in the bathroom," he told the dispatcher. "He is keeping pressure on the wound, trying to keep him elevated."
Scheid pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 5, 2017, at 11 a.m.
