Akron woman charged with 8th OVI offense after crashing car in ditch

AKRON, Ohio — An Akron woman who crashed her car in a ditch in Norton has been charged with her eighth OVI offense.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the driver, Tina Goff, has been previously convicted of a felony OVI charge. She’s now facing a third-degree felony for operating a vehicle wile impaired.

The crash happened June 20 on State Route 21 near Eastern Road.

Barberton Municipal Court Records state that Goff was given a breath test that came back more than double the legal limit at .183%.

During a court appearance on Friday, Goff's license was seized, and she was given a $5,000 bond.

She is scheduled to appear in court on July 1.

OSHP encourages motorists to dial #677 to report reckless or impaired drivers.
