Arrest warrant issued for man accused of shooting at vehicle during road rage incident in Coventry Twp.

COVENTRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio — An arrest warrant has been issued for a 28-year-old man accused of shooting at a vehicle during a road-rage incident on Portage Lakes Drive in Coventry Township, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

Joseph Mitchner, 28, is wanted for three counts of felonious assault, a third-degree felony.

Deputies responded Wednesday at around 6:45 p.m. to Portage Lakes Drive for a report of a road rage incident. It was reported Mitchner allegedly assaulted a 27-year-old woman in the parking lot of Pick's.

Micthner allegedly fled the parking lot in his SUV and almost struck a Ford Escape on Portage Lakes Drive. He allegedly honked the horn at the driver of the Ford Escape and fired at least two rounds from his handgun while in his car.

The driver of the Ford Escape pulled over and Mitchner fled the area. No bullets struck the vehicle or any of the occupants.

The shooting remains under investigation.
