CANTON, Ohio — A Canton man has been arrested in connection with the overdose death of a Stark County woman earlier this summer.
According to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, Tyrone Shannon Butler, 35, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence, possession of fentanyl-related compound, trafficking a fentanyl-related compound, trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine. All of the charges are felonies.
Authorities said they initiated an investigation into the matter after a 46-year-old woman fatally overdosed in July. The investigation was conducted by the sheriff’s office, Canton police, and FBI.
“This is yet another example that we have zero tolerance for drug dealers in our communities,” said Stark County Sheriff George T. Maier. “This collaborative effort demonstrates that Stark County is dedicated to ensuring these dangerous drugs stay off of our streets and that the criminals that distribute them are held accountable.”
