Man shot and killed in Akron Thursday

AKRON, Ohio — A 21-year-old man was shot and killed in Akron Thursday evening.

The shooting happened around 6 p.m. near 28th Street SW and Tampa Avenue.

According to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, the man was shot multiple times following an argument. Witnesses called 911.

Police found the man’s body inside a vehicle when they arrived, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was later identified as Tyrae Carter, 21, from Akron.

The matter remains under investigation.
