AKRON, Ohio — A man has been arrested after throwing guns outside of his vehicle's window during a pursuit with Akron police.
On Monday before 1 p.m., police were sent to a house in the 200 block of Grand Avenue for reports of a suspicious person.
When officers arrived, they saw a maroon vehicle with at least three people sitting in front of the house.
According to police, they attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and activated their lights.
The driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old man, immediately took off and led police on a short chase.
During the pursuit, two guns were thrown out of the window of the car.
Two men were able to escape from the passenger side of the car and flee from police.
The driver was arrested without incident.
The guns were an AK-style rifle and a 9 mm handgun.
The driver was charged with failure to comply with order or signal of a police officer.
