CANTON, Ohio — Trinae Jones, a respiratory therapist at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, was selected as one of Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital's most recent monthly Star Performer employees and even earned the Star Performer of the Year award for 2020.

Jones was nominated for the award for the "exceptional care she provided her patients" and all of her work on Mercy's COVID-19 frontlines.

In April 2020, Jones was recognized for her innovation after collaborating with community members to facilitate the production of the plexiglass intubation boxes that provide increased protection for caregivers throughout Mercy Medical Center.

“I’m blessed to be there when a baby takes their first breath, and to be there to provide comfort and compassion to someone when they take their last,” Jones said of her time working in healthcare.

The hospital recognized Jones for her hard work and compassion, sharing the news of her awards on Facebook Friday evening.
