AKRON, Ohio — An Ohio Department of Transportation worker was struck by a vehicle in a construction zone in Akron Tuesday morning, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.
Akron police responded around 11:30 a.m. after receiving a notification about a car vs pedestrian on Interstate 76/Interstate 77 eastbound lanes near Wolf Ledges Parkway, the ABJ reported.
Authorities said that a car heading east lost control and struck the worker, the ABJ reported.
The ODOT worker was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition is unknown, according to the ABJ.
Part of the road is under construction in both directions in the area where the crash occurred, the ABJ reported.
The matter remains under investigation.
