AKRON, Ohio — The parents of a 2-year-old girl who died after she wandered out in the freezing weather last February have both been sentenced to prison.
Tierra M. Williams, 23 and Dariaun D. Parker, 25, previously pleaded guilty to one count of child endangering, a felony of the third degree.
Williams was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Parker was sentenced to two years in prison, according to court records.
On the afternoon of Feb. 2, 2018, police were called to a home in the 1300 block of Doty Drive, Akron, after Williams found her daughter unresponsive on the front porch, authorities said.
Williams had left the girl with Parker while she went out for a couple of hours. Parker, who works a night shift, fell asleep while watching the girl and she went outside into the cold, authorities said.
