CANTON, Ohio — In an update regarding the investigation into the homicide of 1-year-old Ace Lucas in Canton, Police Chief Jack Angelo said Wednesday that information from task force officers indicates one or more of the persons allegedly involved may be from the Chicago area.
The shooting happened on July 22 in the 1600 block of Clarendon Avenue SW.
According to police, Ace was sleeping when bullets tore through the house and struck him and his twin brother. Ace was transported to a nearby hospital and later died. His brother was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have re-released surveillance video of three people seen outside Ace's home prior to the shooting.
The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the homicide.
Canton police and the FBI are asking anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact them at 330-489-3144.
