AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are investigating after a 19-year-old was shot and killed in Akron's Goodyear Heights neighborhood early Sunday morning.
Just after 12 a.m., officers were called to the 700 block of Sarcee Avenue for reports of a shooting at a home, police said.
Once on scene, officers found the victim lying in the front yard of the home with an apparent gunshot wound to his torso, according to police.
Detectives learned that the teen was at a house party and was shot after an altercation.
The teen was transported to Summa Akron City Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to police.
The incident remains under investigation.
