Police investigating several houses shot up this week in Akron

Police are investigating two more incidents where shots were fired at homes overnight in Akron.

The first shooting happened Thursday around 11 p.m. in the 2400 block of East Avenue. Authorities said the resident heard several gunshots and went outside to investigate. The man's car and detached garage were hit by bullets, according to police.

No one was injured in the shooting.

Police said the shooter is described as a black male who appears to be around 20 to 25 years old. He stands about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs between 155 to 170 pounds.

The second shooting happened in the 1100 block of Welsh Avenue around 12:30 a.m. on Friday.

No one was hurt in the shooting, authorities said.

The shooter is described as a balding white male, about 6 feet tall. The shooter was wearing a black vest at the time of the shooting, police said.

Earlier this week, a 19-year-old man was seriously injured when shots were fired into a residence in the 900 block of Whittier Avenue. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities were called back to the same location on Whittier Avenue several hours later when a resident reported the house was shot up a second time. No further injuries were reported.

Police didn't say if the shootings are connected.
