AKRON, Ohio — Three people were injured Wednesday night in a shooting on Akron’s southeast side, according to the Akron Police Department.
The shooting happened near Sylvan and Pardee avenues around 9:30 p.m.
According to police, the 19-year-old victim said he was walking down the street when a SUV pulled up and started shooting. The man was shot in the arm. He was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said they responded to a second scene moments later.
A 37-year-old man driving down Sylvan Avenue was hit when shots were fired from an unknown direction, police said.
The man crashed his vehicle into a light pole on nearby South Arlington Street, according to authorities. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
A 36-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was also shot, police said. That person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 26-year-old female passenger in the vehicle was unharmed.
