Police looking for 'armed and dangerous' suspect who allegedly killed 23-year-old woman in Akron

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department has identified a suspect wanted for the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old woman earlier this week.

According to police, Arianna Richardson, 22, is wanted on a murder charge. She is a black female, stands 5-feet, 7 inches tall and has black hair and brown eyes.

Authorities say that Richardson should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police allege that Richardson shot 23-year-old Willquian Jews during an altercation on Wednesday. Jews was shot in the chest and later transported to a nearby hospital where she died.

Thursday night, two men were shot while attending a vigil for Jews near Fernwood Drive and Hoye Avenue. The shooter in that instance has not been identified.

Anyone with information regarding Richardson’s whereabouts is asked to call Akron police detectives at 330-375-2490 or Summit County CrimeStoppers at 330-434-COPS.
