Report: Akron schools looking to hire teachers

AKRON, Ohio — Akron Public Schools are still looking for teachers, according to News 5 media partner's at the Akron Beacon Journal.

The district is looking to fill about 20 vacancies.

Part of that is due to the launch of the College and Career Academies, as well as some late retirements and resignations, according to Executive Director of Human Resources Kathy McVey.

The district is temporarily filling position with substitutes, many of whom are retired teachers.
