AKRON, Ohio — Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens announced on Monday that the popular estate will open for the season on April 1, and there will be a new exhibit theme this year.
The theme for the exhibits this year, called "Restoration: If This Hall Could Talk" focuses on celebrating the extensive restoration projects completed around the estate since 2015.
In addition to highlighting the restoration of the estate, Stan Hywet is also launching a new outdoor tour with a performing art series, hosting a full schedule of public programs and special events.
The new "Performing Art Series" showcases local theater, dance, music, film and visual arts.
Included in the outdoor performing arts events are the Akron Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland Ballet, Ohio Shakespeare Festival, Nightlight Cinemas, the Stan Hywet Goodyear Concert Band, photographer Ian Adams and plein air painter Jessica Henry Gray.
Stan Hywet will be open for tours beginning April 1 Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Currently, all tours will be self-guided but guided tours are expected to return in June, pending COVID-19 guidelines issued by the state and county.
Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is located at 714 North Portage Path in Akron.
