CANTON, Ohio — A traffic stop in Canton led state troopers to arrest a truck driver after his wife was found hiding in the cab of his truck with multiple injuries, according to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Kenny R. Roberts, 45, of Ironton, who was impaired at the time of the traffic stop, was charged with multiple felonies including attempted murder, felonious assault, domestic violence and operating a vehicle under the influence.
On Monday at around 2:30 p.m., troopers initially stopped what they believed to be a disabled commercial motor vehicle on I-77 near Fohl Road.
While speaking with the driver, troopers located a woman hiding in the cab of the truck. Troopers said the woman has visible injuries to her head, face and hands.
It was later determined the two were married and the victim had sustained the injuries after being attacked with a knife and a blunt object, according to the release.
