This boring story is anything but! Rosie, the tunnel boring machine, has been working over the last year to dig the Ohio Canal Interceptor Tunnel under downtown Akron.
Wednesday Rosie will breakthrough and complete her mile-long journey under Akron.

Rosie’s cutterhead will begin to break through, with falling rock and concrete, according to a news release from the Akron organization. By the end of the event, the machine cutterhead will be fully visible.
The public is also invited to see celebrate the breakthrough in person at Lock 3 Park, located at 200 South Main Street in Akron around noon.
