The University of Akron is expected to announce Wednesday a "transformative" donation that has been made to the school.

This comes as some members of the faculty plan to officially express their dissatisfaction with the administration, our media partners at the Akron Beacon Journal report.

Some cite the declining enrollment numbers and what they believe is a lack of transparency by the president.

The Akron Beacon Journal reports the faculty senate is expected to take a no-confidence vote Thursday, something Senate President Bill Rich says is a rare move.

Meanwhile, the university is unveiling a donation that it says will transform "the academic experience and lives of students."

The announcement will happen at 3 p.m. at the honors college on South College Street.
