AKRON, Ohio — A 23-year-old woman was arrested after shooting at two teens who were attempting to sell a cell phone in Kenmore Saturday night.

Around 10 p.m., officers were called to the area of 6th Street and Florida avenue for reports of a robbery and shots fired.

Once on scene, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old told officers that they had arranged to meet someone using the app “Letgo” to sell an iPhone.

When the two arrived at the meeting location, they were assaulted when they decided not to sell the phone, police said.

Police said one of the females believed to be involved in the incident fired a handgun and fled in a Nissan Rogue with at least one other individual.

During the investigation, officers identified 23-year-old Summer Beatty as being involved with the robbery. She was later stopped driving a Nissan Rogue and officers recovered a handgun from the vehicle, police said.

Beatty was charged with aggravated robbery and improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle. She was booked into the Summit County Jail, according to police.
