Multiple police agencies have closed down the area of Lee Road and Van Aken Boulevard due to a SWAT situation Sunday afternoon.

"Police are advising residents to steer clear of the westbound lanes of Lee Road and Van Aken (near Ashby), as well as Chagrin Boulevard near Lee Road, due to the presence of law enforcement officers conducting an active investigation," the City of Shaker Heights said.

News 5 has a crew at the scene who said they are hearing more than a dozen loud noises going off, but they are not sure as to what the cause of it was.

The Greater Cleveland RTA has suspended Blue Line service until further notice due to police activity. Additionally, 67R shuttles are running at this time.

Details on what prompted the SWAT response haven't been provided. It's unclear if this is in connection with the search for the suspect involved in the fatal shooting of a Euclid Police officer Saturday night.
