Best pumpkin patches in Northeast Ohio

Every year, families gather in October to carve pumpkins for Halloween. Some people go to stores, while others make a day out of it and go to a pumpkin patch. We asked News 5 viewers where they go to pick the perfect pumpkin and these are the patches they told us about.

Ashland County

Honey Haven Farm

Honey Haven Farm has a Fall Festival that starts on Sept. 28. You can take a horse-drawn wagon ride to the field to pick pumpkins, slingshot pumpkins and shoot air-powered corn cannons. The farm will kick off their 20th annual Fall Festival by hosting an Ale Trial on Sept. 21. The farm is located at 1327 County Road 1475, Ashland, Ohio.

Erie County

Burnham Orchards

The orchard has a farmers market open daily and has different fall activities planned every weekend. Every weekend, the orchard will have hayrides, balloon making, face painting and apple picking. Pets are not allowed inside of the orchard. The orchard is located at 8019 State Route 113, Berlin Heights, Ohio.

Geauga County

Patterson Fruit Farms

The farm is open year round and sells apple cider, maple syrup, fresh fruits and vegetables. The Fun Fest runs from Sept. 14 until Oct. 27. Families can pack a lunch or visit their refreshment stand in their outdoor farm area designed for families. The farm is located at 11414 Caves Road, Chesterland, Ohio.

Huron County

Allie's Mums

Allie's Mums may be known for their mums, but they also sell pumpkins! They started selling pumpkins in early September. They have also grown more than 6,000 mums this year in 48 different colors. The stand is located at 14804 Gore-Orphanage Road, Wakeman, Ohio.

Lake County

Secor's Nurseries-Fruit Market

The nursery is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are family owned and operated. The nursery is located at 4940 North Ridge Road, Perry, Ohio.

Lorain County

Red Wagon Farm

Red Wagon Farm has been around for 54 years. They will be hosting their 35th annual Pumpkin Festival starting Sept. 21. The farm has a corn maze, wagon ride, kids play area, all you can carry pumpkins and face painting. Red Wagon Farm is located at 16081 East River Road, Columbia Station, Ohio.

Schlecter Brothers Country Harvest

Schlechter Brothers sells pumpkins to Lorain County residents yearly. The farm has fall decorative specialty crops. They also sell freezer beef, pork and homemade maple syrup. They are located at 51593 Ohio Road 113, Amherst, Ohio.

Donald A. Schuster Greenhouse

Schuster's pumpkin patch sells all of your fall decorating needs. You can buy pumpkins, gourds, bales of straw, decorative corn stalk, mums and more. They also have a pumpkin patch hay ride that runs every Saturday and Sunday in October. The greenhouse is located at 8638 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio.

Medina County

Mapleside Farms

Mapleside Farms transforms into Pumpkin Village every fall. You can tackle their seven-acre Browns Themed Maze, take a tour of the orchard in their cow and pig trains, enjoy a hayride and more. The festival kicks off every Friday with "Not So Frightful Friday Nights" and has a different theme every weekend. The farm is located at 294 Pearl Road, Brunswick, Ohio.

Portage County

Dussel Farm

Dussel Farm has been around since 1948. Not only is it a farm, but it also has a feed store where visitors can buy vegetables year round. The farm also has a yearly pumpkin festival that runs from late September to October. The farm is located at 1109 Old Forge Road, Kent, Ohio.

Monroe Orchard

Monroe Orchard has an Apple Harvest Festival every year starting the last Saturday of September. Festival attendees can pick their own apples and pumpkins and watch them make your apple cider. You can also tour the orchard by calling 330-569-7464. The orchard is located at 6313 Pioneer Trail, Hiram, Ohio.

Rufener Hilltop Farms

The farm hosts an annual fall festival that includes inflatables, corn mazes, hayrides, pick your own pumpkins, a petting zoo, pumpkin bowling and more. It costs $10 to attend the fall festival. The festival takes place on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The farm is located at 1022 State Road 43, Mogadore, Ohio.

Stark County

Arrowhead Orchard

The fall season is already in full swing at Arrowhead Orchard. The orchard has a corn maze, pumpkin patch and hay rides. It costs $9 per person to partake in the Fall Family Fun Weekends. The orchard is located at 11724 Lisbon Street, Paris, Ohio.

Nickajack Farms

Nickajack Farms has over 500 acres on their property. You can pick your own pumpkin and take a train or walk to the picking area. The farm has a cafe where you can come and eat lunch before heading to their fall festival. The farm is located at 2955 Manchester Avenue NW, North Lawrence, Ohio.

Summit County

Heritage Farms

Heritage Farm has been around for nearly 170 years. Every fall they host a Pumpkin Pandemonium. The festival will kick off on Sept. 28 and run until Oct. 29. The farm is located at 6050 Riverview Road, Peninsula, Ohio.

Trumbull County

Kuchta Farms

Their pumpkin patch has pumpkins and gourds of every shape, size and color. You can catch the hayride out to the patch to pick your own pumpkin. The farm has their own kid zone where children can climb a hay mountain, play in the corn pit, race on the hopball track and run duck races. The farm is located at 4480 State Route 82, Newton Falls, Ohio.

Wayne County

Ramseyer Farms

Ramseyer Farms has more than 45 activities for families including two giant corn mazes, hayrides, slides, animal pedal cart race tracks and pumpkin picking. Ticket prices are $10 during the week and $14 on the weekends. Their fall fun runs into Halloween. The farm is located at 4000 Ramseyer Lane, Wooster, Ohio.
