A 61-year-old man was hit by an RTA bus on West Superior Avenue in Public Square Wednesday afternoon, according to Cleveland police.
The No. 1 St. Clair bus was turning onto Superior Avenue from West Roadway in front of the Renaissance Hotel when the bus' right front wheel hit the man's foot as he was crossing Superior Avenue.
Authorities said the man is conscious and in stable condition. EMS took the man to MetroHealth from the scene, according to officials.
In December 2016, a woman was hit by an RTA bus, also in public square. She died as a result of her injuries. Citizens group Clevelanders for Public Transit believed road closures in public square were partly to blame for the accident.
