Body found under burning mattress in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — Authorities are investigating after Cleveland firefighters responded to a reported car fire Tuesday morning and then found the body of a man under a mattress that had been set on fire.

According to police, firefighters responded to the area of West 41st Street and Train Avenue around 12:25 a.m. The body was discovered after the flames were extinguished.

Homicide detectives and members of the Cleveland Fire Department’s arson unit were called in. The man has not been identified.
