Body of man 'deceased for some time' recovered from Cuyahoga River

CLEVELAND — A body was recovered from the Cuyahoga River Sunday evening, according to the Cleveland Division of Fire.

The Ohio Department of of Natural Resources and the U.S. Coast Guard were called to 2100 Dry Dock Ave. for report of a body in the water, authorities said.

ODNR and the Coast Guard assisted Cleveland Fire and the Cleveland Division of Police in the recovery of the body.

Crews pulled the body of an elderly man from the water. The Coast Guard said it appeared the man had been dead “for some time.”

The man’s body was turned over to the Medical Examiner. His identity is unknown at this time.
