CLEVELAND — News 5’s overnight photographer witnessed, and caught on video, a shocking sight: a car driving the wrong way on State Route 2 from FirstEnergy Stadium to Dead Man’s Curve.
News 5’s Mike Vielhaber first noticed the driver heading eastbound in the westbound lanes as he drove by East 9th Street near the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He then saw the driver enter the ramp that would be the entrance from West 3rd Street. He lost sight of the car as it went to the ramp at Dead Man’s Curve.
Vielhaber alerted authorities, and he said Cleveland police did an “awesome job” dispatching units. While he didn’t see how the situation turned out, he didn’t see or hear any reports of crashes after he called.
