Cleveland fire responds to underground electrical fire on West 91st Street

CLEVELAND — Power has been shut off for some residents on Cleveland’s West Side after an excavation company struck an underground electrical line, causing it to ignite, according to a spokesperson for the Cleveland Fire Department.

Cleveland fire was on scene to put out the fire at West 91st Street and Detroit Avenue in the 3rd Battalion.

Cleveland Public Power and FirstEnergy Corp. responded to the scene.

FirstEnergy's outage map shows between two and 40 customers are without power at two locations on Cleveland's West Side, as of 12:13 p.m. Thursday. The map states the expected restoration time is about 1:30 p.m.
