Cleveland firefighters fought freezing temperatures Wednesday night as they battled a fire on the city's east side.

According to authorities, a fire broke out at a two-family home on the 3400 block of East 118th Street.

A 90-year-old man was trapped on the back porch after he went upstairs to make sure a woman living there was able to get out in time.

Members of Ladder 30 found the man and brought him down a ladder, in the rear of the home.

The victim is being treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns.

Officials did not provide specifics regarding the cause of the fire.
