CLEVELAND — A Cleveland police officer who was shot during a standoff at a home on East 81st Street will be going home from the hospital Wednesday.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) confirmed to News 5 that the National Response Team Truck, which is normally reserved for arson and explosive investigations, will join several law enforcement agencies to escort Cleveland Police Officer Jennifer Kilnapp home from the hospital.
“Officer Kilnapp’s father is a retired ATF agent, so we have a double connection to want to be supportive of her,” the agency said.
She was confined to the hospital since Monday after she was shot during a three-hour standoff at a home on East 81st Street. She was shot multiple times in the back inside the home after making contact with an alleged male shooter who fired shots at her.
