Cleveland police arrest teenager accused of sexually assaulting woman in garage near the Q

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police have arrested a 17-year-old who allegedly attacked and sexually assaulted a woman in a parking garage near the Q on Valentine's Day before forcing her into her vehicle and crashed it.

The teenager was taken into custody by the Gang Impact Unit and the Neighborhood Impact Community Engagement Unit in the 2400 block of East 37th Street.

At about 7 p.m. on Feb. 14, a 51-year-old woman reported that upon entering the garage at 630 Prospect Ave., a man attacked and sexually assaulted her, according to a Cleveland police news release.

The teenager then forced the woman into her vehicle before attempting to drive off, the release states. He then crashed the vehicle and forcibly took property from the victim.

Police said the teenager was wanted for rape, kidnapping, grand theft of a motor vehicle and robbery.
