CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating a drive-by shooting that killed a 23-year-old male and injured two females on Cleveland’s West Side Monday night.
Police responded at around 10:20 p.m. Monday night to the 3200 block of West 99th Street for two females shot.
Officers learned two female victims had been taken by a car to MetroHealth Medical Center. Officers located a 23-year-old male in the back seat of the vehicle. The victim was given first aid, but later died at the hospital.
A News 5 photojournalist at the scene found dozens of bullet shell casings on West 98th Street.
On West 99th Street, a vehicle was found shot up. Windows of the car were shattered and police blocked off the scene.
Preliminary information revealed the three victims were traveling in a vehicle on West 98th Street under the I-90 overpass, when a white SUV pulled alongside the driver's side and started firing shots in their car.
The three victims drove to the West 99th Street address to find help.
The Gang Impact Unit responded and is assisting with the investigation. No arrests have been made.
