A Cleveland police officer was hurt while chasing a suspect near Lee Road and Cloverside Avenue early Sunday morning, officials said.
Police said the incident happened around 4:45 a.m.
The suspect stole a car from an apartment complex in Warrensville Heights Saturday morning.
The officer crashed into a wall while he was following a suspect, who was traveling on foot.
The stolen vehicle was found on Lee Road and Glendale Avenue after the chase.
The Accident Investigation Unit was called to the scene. Investigators said the officer injured his knee and had air bag abrasions. The officer is being treated at Southpointe Hospital, according to a department statement.
The status of the suspect is unknown.
The case remains under investigation.
