Cleveland police are looking for a driver who allegedly struck and killed a man lying in the roadway on Cleveland’s East Side Sunday and did not stop at the scene.
At about 2:35 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the 12500 block of Oakfield Avenue for reports of a man struck by a car, according to police. Witnesses at the scene reported that the man was seen acting erratically, screaming and yelling outside with no shirt on in the pouring rain. The man laid down on Oakfield Ave., and about three vehicles swerved around him.
A silver or light-colored minivan or crossover struck the man and did not stop at the scene, police said. The victim was identified as 29-year-old Anthony Ricardo Bey.
Bey was taken to University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Members of the Accident Investigation Unit are investigating, and anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 216-623-5290.
