Cleveland police sergeant charged with 11 counts of soliciting prostitution

CLEVELAND — A Cleveland police sergeant was charged with 11 counts of solicitation of prostitution Monday following an Internal Affairs Unit investigation, according to a news release from Cleveland police.

Sergeant Michael Rybarczyk, a 29-year veteran of the Division of Police, was charged with the 11 misdemeanor offenses in Cleveland Municipal Court, according to the news release.

Rybarczyk was most recently assigned to the First District, and has been placed on restricted duty pending the adjudication of the criminal proceedings, officials said.

According to court records, there were four women Rybarczyk solicited, ranging in age from 18 to 28 years old.

The incidents occurred between July 20, 2018 and Dec. 2, 2018, according to investigators.
