EAST LANSING, Mich. — Cleveland’s award-winning Barrio restaurant group is opening its second out-of-state location in East Lansing, Michigan.

Barrio will be the first restaurant tenant along Albert Avenue in East Lansing’s Center City District Development, according to a news release from the company. The Center City District Development is a $125 million mixed-use development that includes Landmark on Grand River, Newman Lofts, Target, public parking and 24,000 square feet of retail space along Albert Avenue.

Barrio is expected to open in Michigan in late summer 2019.

“Barrio is committed to providing a dining experience that exceeds your expectations and is worth your time, walk or drive”, said Jake Hawley, Director of Operations for Barrio. “Our new Albert Avenue location will be at the center of where it’s at in East Lansing and within the region. This location will allow us to showcase what has made Barrio a destination-oriented dining choice in Ohio and New Hampshire”

Barrio currently serves Mexican cuisine at seven locations across Ohio and one in New Hampshire.
