Couple hosting farewell party for their 15-year-old dog, and you're invited

A local couple is organizing a fitting farewell to their 15-year-old dog Gus.

Max and Megan Saxelby have chosen to help Gus “move on” Saturday afternoon, and they are asking area dog owners to stop by Terrestrial Brewing Company in Cleveland Friday night to meet with Gus and give him the “send off he deserves.”

"Gus is the best buddy,” Max and Megan said in the Facebook event listing. “As he has gotten older, he has lost interest in many things. The one thing that still makes him happy is other dogs. Gus is nearing the end of his time with us and we want to make sure he has one last chance to hang with as many fur friends as possible before he moves on to the other side. We know this sounds sad to have a celebration before we help Gus move on. However, as his people, we know it is our job to take care of him on this final leg of the trip because he has taken care of us for so many years.”

Terrestrial Brewing Company has agreed to host Gus’ farewell event from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at their Cleveland brewery, located at 7524 Father Fascati Drive.

You can let Gus, Max and Megan know you and your dog will be attending on the Facebook event listing here.
