CLEVELAND — The Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas will be using the Global Center for Health Innovation for civil trails and jury duty when jury trials resume Sept. 21.

Conference rooms will be used for civil trials and no trials involving incarcerated people will be held in the Global Center for Health Innovation, according to Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Spokesperson Darren Toms.

Jurors will be told to report to the Global Center for Health Innovation without going to the Cuyahoga County Justice Center to limit the number of people inside that complex, said Toms. A large conference room on the first floor is likely to be used to hold jurors waiting to be picked for voir dire. When jurors are picked for jury selection, they'll be escorted across the street to the Justice Center.

Toms tells News 5 the agreements are being finalized to use the space and the arrangement would stay in place until further notice while social distancing continues to be recommended to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
