Firefighter injured battling flames on the East Side

CLEVELAND — A Cleveland firefighter is in the hospital after battling flames on the East Side.

Officials said the officer may have broken a leg battling a vacant house fire at East 66th Street and Selma Avenue, according to a fire department spokesperson.

The fire happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. and was under control more than 20 minutes later.

The firefighter was transported to Metro Hospital in stable condition.
