The developer for the proposed outlet mall in the city has decided to go in a different direction, according to Mayor Vic Collova.

Mayor Collova said the matter was discussed with the city and agreed that this new direction would be better for not only the city of Garfield Heights, but also for the entire region.

The mayor said he is not at liberty to say what the new project will be, but only that the city is excited by the new proposal.

"I want to note that although we believe this new project will be finalized soon, it certainly is not a done deal and as we all know things can change in a hurry. Myself and my administration are eager to announce this project to the public when everything is final."

In March, Craig Realty Group said Outlets at Cleveland would have high quality, thematic architecture, distinctive luxury amenities, and that it would be located off Interstate 480.
